So, after watching a few romantic comedies (Honey and Clover, Wall-E, and Up) recently, I've gotten a bit of inspiration for an animation/game idea.
There are two characters, a boy and a girl. They're complete strangers, who don't even live in the vicinity of each other. Both are looking for love, and decide to write a love letter to no one in particular. After writing it, they send it off in the mail. That's the bare bones premise. I've been having this music video going on in my head for the past few days on how I want the animation and song to go.
I just came up with a basic sketch for the boy that I actually like, so I'll be working on the girl next.
The concept I have for the game is that it requires two players simultaneously. They write what they want to say to whoever is out there, and then the game consists of them trying to mail it off. On the way, a number of exceedingly large obstacles gets in their way. There could also be some sort of social matchmaking going on. Like matching interests in the letters, and matching players? And if they players find each other in the game, it's a bigger bonus.

DRAM 5600 Callbacks, Progress in Senior Seminar
Boy did I pick work busy classes this semester! Usually I'm overloaded because I've gotten behind on my reading. This is a non-issue this semester as the reading is very light in only two of them. Instead, it's all about making things happen, whether it's putting on a play or conceptualizing an animation from start to finish.
This week the students in Play Direction are to finalize our casting choices. We're supposed to hold callbacks and unless I'm mistaken, be done by class on WEDNESDAY!
I haven't heard back from everybody I want to see, and so far it's a bit rough. Things should turn out fine, though.
Finished the pumpkin project in Animation 3, finally. I wanted to go back and revise the lip syncing as well as put in a background, but time constraints and all that. I also came up with the idea to make LocoRoco pumpkins. By the time I finish, it'll be way out of season, but I like the idea anyway.
As for my Senior Seminar project, it's...stalled. I haven't concepted any art yet, so I have no idea how my main character looks like. I should probably get on that soon.
In other news, Eurydice is opening this week.

Concept!
As I'm writing my resumés (yes plural), I remembered I had decided on a concept for my final project. I'm going to create character for an action platformer game. It's going to stray far from realism (an excuse for my poor drawing skills, maybe?), but the main theme revolves around finding missing pieces, literally and metaphorically.
Now to finish my resumés and cover letters...

Senior Seminar Project
Theatre majors at UGA are required to take & pass Senior Seminar in order to graduate. I am now a senior, and am taking said course. We're required to have a final project, something that somehow will help us on our way into the real world (hopefully). I decided to create a demo reel, based on a concept (which I still have to come up with) and possibly make a short (very SHORT) film.
To prepare, I've been reading (always a good thing), and buying things I might need. I've already got the Autodesk Education Suite, so now I can do my modeling, animation, and rendering at home. My tablet should come in today (yay), so that's another way I can do things. Just wish I could draw well.
I got the Adobe CS4 Production Suite Education Edition yesterday, but lo-and-behold, I have to go through a convoluted process to verify my identity as a student, even though I already had to do that to buy it from an education story for the discount (huge discount by the way). I wouldn't be royally pissed if I could just use my student ID but UGA DOESN'T date their IDs! That's the only thing that's missing! So, I have to request a transcript since I don't have my last report card. But even that's not easy. I have to pay $2 for it, but the online request through OASIS doesn't accept credit cards at this time. Like it'll matter anyway, because they probably won't accept Visa.
Isn't life grand?
RANT OVER.

Distrubing Dreams
I've this recurring theme in my dreams lately were I smother my sister to death (with a pillow...Pillowman, anyone?) The last one I had I didn't finish smothering her because she knew it was me doing it.
The point is, why am I dreaming about stuff like this, and should I be worried?
To my sister: I don't want to kill you. I love you very much.
